Play Ball and Marty the Polar Bear Wee Beastie This box figurine was carved in 1997 by David Lawrence. It features polar bears playing. The interior of Play Ball contains a spaceship that opens to reveal a three-eyed alien and the inscription “Oates was here”. It is part of the Zookeeper’s Series and for a donation to the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, IL, collectors were given the opportunity to adopt Marty to improve his habitat, and receive a miniature polar bear figurine in exchange. Play Ball is No. 84 of 7200 pieces and comes with its original box, Zookeeper’s brochure and Certificate of Authenticity. Play Ball has been signed by David Lawrence and Marty has been signed by Martin Perry as shown in the actual photos. I collected Harmony Kingdom Box Figurines from the time Martin Perry, Noel Wiggins and Lisa Yashon introduced the collection at the Long Beach, CA International Collectible Exposition in April 1995. These pieces have only been displayed in my private smoke-free collection, and have never been exposed to sunlight. I’ve downsized and can no longer display my collection, so I’m letting go. The winning bidder will pay shipping costs through the USPS, which will include insurance and delivery confirmation. I will combine shipping costs for multiple items. Shipment will be the day after receiving payment.
