The 25th Anniversary of Harold's Club was observed in 1957. Beam's Royal Opal, a glass bottle made by the Wheaton Glass Company, was spray-painted silver to mark the Silver Anniversary occasion. The label is made of red velvet with silver letters. Made by Wheaton Glass, it is 11 inches high, and this may have been the first casino decanter ever made. This was the precursor to Beam's VIP Series started ten years later, a different bottle each year, which they also produced in very limited numbers for special customers -- like Harold's Club. Each of those will be put up for sale over the next few weeks. No casino had more casino-related decanters produced for them than Harold's Club -- and this was the FIRST ONE!!! Harold's Club was the high point of Reno gaming, and unfortunately it closed forever on March 31, 1995. No chips, cracks or liquor, but as with any decanter this age, the cork may need a little TLC.
