Harry ChapinShort Stories Tour Portchester, NY 1974 Performers: Harry Chapin Venue: Capital Theatre Portchester, NY Date: Thurs., April 4, 1974 One of America's greatest musical storytellers, Harry Chapin, never achieved the status of Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez or Bob Dylan, but he did attract a loyal following of fans that adored him for his character-driven story songs and his lush arrangements. Many of his songs have become staples on the radio. Sadly, Chapin died in 1981, in a fiery car crash while driving on the Long Island expressway on the way to a business meeting in Manhattan. Chapin was playing in support of his just released third studio album "Short Stories". It contained songs such as "W*O*L*D", "Mr. Tanner" and "Mail Order Annie" which would remain amongst his most popular work for the rest of his life. Shows around this time would contain classics such as "Sunday Morning, Sunshine", "W*O*L*D", "Sniper" and "Circle' and of course, his signature song, "Taxi". A young Harry Chapin. *public domain 04/04/02 Description This beautiful, high-quality poster is not an original. It is approximately 12" X 18" in dimension and is ready to frame or hang as is.
