A Haviland Limoges hand-painted Art Nouveau plate with stylized pink violets and green leaves. In the center reserve the artist signature M. Berger is part of the design. Marked to backside "Haviland Limoges / Zenith. The plate measures 8 1/2" dia and is excellent condition.Artist M. Berger, and his brother O. Berger (for Otto Berger), together formed the Zenith Art Decorating Studio in Davenport, Iowa c.1900 and were especially well-known for their magnificent 'conventional' art style china paintings of VIOLETS, such as this century-old porcelain art treasure. This is completely hand painted with Pickard like art.Examples of Berger-signed paintings are quite rare.
