It was manufactured and decorated by Theodore Haviland in France approximately 100 years ago! This plate is truly a work of art. It is difficult to believe meals were actually served on plates such as this! Ours has been on display its entire life and appears unused in person. It is in excellent antique condition ~ free of chips, cracks or repairs. In fact, this plate shows very little if any wear at all. The gold is everyw and is positively gorgeous. Even the cobalt edge has been gilt with etched gold! The Limoges surface is very glossy ~ making this piece quite challenging to photograph. Please excuse the glare and rest assured this plate is as perfect as the day it was sold! Look closely at the pink and lilac roses. Many have hand-applied enamel highlights ~ simply outstanding!! It is such details that make Haviland Limoges stand out among the rest! Measuring 9 3/4 inches across, this rare antique plate is a remarkable example of the antistry of the French Haviland.
