Aloha! This "treasure for you" comes from my smoke free home. Up for your consideration from my late husband's collection of Hawaii tokens is this MILK/DAIRY token from DAIRYMEN'S ASSOCIATION LTD - HONOLULU. This alumimum round shaped token is 24 mm and is in EF+ condition. This token is listed as 2TD-15 in the "Hawaiian Money - Standard Catalog - Second Edition by Donald Russell & Ronald Russell. OBVERSE: DAIRYMEN'S ASSOCIATION, LTD - HONOLULU REVERSE: GOOD FOR ONE QUART AA MILK Per Medcalf/Russell pg 72: " In early 19th Century, ranchers obtained milk for home use from beef cattle, originally brought to the islands by Captain Vancouver in 1793. Dairy breeds were introduced in mid-1800's. Early this 20th Century, when Honolulu Dairymen's Association was formed, a quart of milk in Honolulu cost ten cents and in short supply despite some 50 dairies in the city...." ABOUT ME: I am not a coin dealer or collector. All coins, medals and military related items listed through me were part of my late husband's collection.
