A unusual rare early 20th century vintage white metal advertising vesta case embossed HAY & SON LTD / SHEFFIELD / P S 2 & RED ROVER / WHISKY to the front with a raised oval striking panel to the base.Unusual oval shaped case with PATENT embossed to the side.There is an internal slide compartment to store matches - I think there might possibly have been a very small collar around the slide opening end of the case.Hay & Son were a Sheffield wine and spirit mercheant situated in Norfolk Street Sheffield and Red Rover would have been a blend of whisky that they sold.No maker's marks or hallmarks.One of two early 20th century vesta cases I have listed for auction this week on eBay.SIZE: Only 2.15" (5.5 cms) x 1.35" (3.75 cms) x 0.65" (1.75 cm.) deep.CONDITION: There is a small split to the interior lining into which the compartment slides,which I have shown in the second picture by easing the lining from the case,otherwise good condition with no other damage.The pictures give a fair representation of condition.Rare whisky advertising vesta case which would be a perfect addition to a themed collection.No reserve.Please view the other vesta case and collector's items I have for auction this week on eBay.I always pack multiple purchases (from same day auctions) together to reduce postage costs for buyers.I pack to a high standard using bubble read more
