Japanese title of book is Mononoke Hime Ekonte (translation: Princess Mononoke Storyboard).For those of you who admire Miyazaki’s extraordinary draughtsmanship, this is an absolute joy. Rendered in a limited palette of brown and grey pencil, each picture shows just how meticulously every cell was worked out on paper before the story went to animation at the Ghibli Studio. Looking at these, it is possible to see how closely Miyazaki’s masterful vision is translated onto the screen from his exquisitely detailed drawings - down to every movement and facial expression.Book is in Japanese; size approx 22 x 3.5 x 16 cms, 648 pages. Published in 2002 by Tokuma Shoten. Beautifully produced hardcover in dustwrapper with presentation slipcase; pages are a light cream colour, with gloss-paper title page showing a colour still from the film.Book was purchased several years ago, and is in excellent condition, with just very slight corner wear to slipcase, but otherwise in bright, clean and unmarked, near-new, unused condition internally.
