Produced for the John Muir series of Pacific Coast landscapes covering California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and New Mexico. TITLE: THE CITY OF REFUGE, ELK IN HAYDEN VALLEY, YELLOWSTONE PARK Artist: JAMES FAGAN AND CARTER BEARD. PLATE IMPRESSION. TYPE OF PRINT: GENUINE ETCHING, SIGNED IN THE PLATE . CRISP IMPRESSION, A GEM... produced one-side only. Shown cropped in scan to save on file size, but actual margins ample and overall print is larger than shown in scan. NOTE! Actual print is much nicer looking than my scan!!! SIZE: Sheet size is approximately 11X15, Artwork area of this series varies a little but typically since scanned at .85 the display is the artwork size. DETAILS: Produced in 1888. Condition: FINE to VERY FINE, frameworthy. No creases, tears, stains in art area... Margins have a little aging but this won't matter when matted and framed. Top condition!
