Here's some cool old soda or highball glasses which were made by A.H. Heisey and Company of Newark, Ohio. These are decoration with Heisey's "Sportsman" silhouette etching, designed by Carl Cobel, which was introduced in 1932 and discontinued in 1944.These glasses are about 5-1/8" tall and about 2-13/16" across the top. They hold about 11 ounces of liquid when filled to the absolute brim (so 'functional capacity' is probably only in the 9-10 ounce range). My reference doesn't mention any 10 or 11-ounce glasses, so I'm presuming these are the 12 ounce soda glasses (any expert advice out there would be appreciated). The glasses are in nice shape, with no nicks, chips, flakes, fleabites, stains, or cloudiness (maybe a light scuff or light short scratch here or there, but nothing heavy or noticeable. It's just beautiful old glassware, featuring the Sportsman silhouette etch with the hunter with the rifle or shotgun, and his hunting dog, it hasn't been made for over 70 years, it's in excellent shape, and it needs a good home. And if you like this, be sure and check out the matching cocktail shaker I have listed.Any questions or comments, feel free to email. Thanks for looking, and be sure to check out my other auctions!
