HENRI FANTIN LaTOUR Born 1836 - Died 1904 Being offered is a Lithograph by Henri Fantin_LaTour entitled Baccus. This is in the original frame and the frame could use some repair. The lithograph itself is approximately 8" X 9.5". This comes with the Certificate of Authenticity stating is was aquired from the Associated American Artists in New York. It bears the artist's personal signature in the plate and is guaranteed to have been printed from the plate. A brief history of the painter is included on the back of the lithograph. In part it includes: "As a son of a painter Fantin-LaTour began his artistic training early. In 1850 he entered the studio of Lecoq de Boisbaudran and later studied with Courbet as a copyist at the Louve. There he met Whistler and Charlotte Dubourg, who later became his wife. In 1859 Whistler invited him to England where he befriended Edwin Edwards, who later became and remained his patron." I will only except returns if proven this is not an original and it has not been removed from the frame.
