This is the highly desirable deco thermos designed by Henry Dreyfuss, one of the design architects of the 1939 World's Fair. These are hard to find outside of private collections and museums. This came from our personal collection. This insulated pitcher comes with the glass stopper. The enamel is dove grey with anodized aluminum and trim. T is some corrosion around the top of the pitcher as indicated in the photos and around the handle w it is affixed to the pitcher. The stopper does have some chips. One on the top and some damage to the bottom portion which blocks the spout. Measures approximately 6 inches tall; 15 inches in diameter. Molded on underside of base: in ring around outer edge, "THE AMERICAN THERMOS BOTTLE CO. / NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A." and, in center, "THE ONLY / THERMOS / REG. U.S. PAT. OFFICE / No 539 / VACUUM BOTTLE / DESIGNED BY / [in script, facsimile signature] Henry Dreyfuss." I will carefully ship this for $12. Please note the following clarification: This thermos is 15 inches in circumference measured around the widest part of the thermos. The diameter is 4 inches across the bottom. These came in two sizes and this is the SMALLER of the two.
