. Up For Sale Is This “HERALDIC ART MEDAL,” It is number 10 in Bob MacNamara's classic So Called Half Dollar series. This is the nicest appearance of any Louisiana HAM I have had! Why buy raw when you can obtain itcertified and protected? You will then know it has not been cleaned, altered or dipped! This Louisiana Statehood medal is graded and encapsulated by NGC as an MS-67. It has a lovely frostiness not seen on many Louisiana pieces. It is absolute gem with a silvery flash and needle sharp strike. This is one my favorite reverse in the series! Colonial America is clearly displayed. This Louisiana medal was issued in 1962 to commemorate 150 anniversary of Statehood for the "Sportsmen's Paradise." The scarcity of these medals, the declared mintages’ were in the 6,000 range and experts agree that were never that many minted. The silver melt offs of the late 1970's and today have reduced the numbers available to maybe fewer than 1,500 each. The value and up side potential is substantial; this example is valued from $75.00 to $85.00 Thank you for viewing our auctions!
