RARE ALL ORIGINAL HERMAN MILLER CHARLES EAMES DESIGNED RAR ROCKER BASE WITH ZENITH SALMON ROPE EDGE FIBERGLASS ARM SHELL CHAIR - 1ST PRODUCTION 1950!! This is a 100% original first year production Rope Edge Rocking Armchair,a Zenith RAR, designed by the great Charles Eames, manufactured byZenith Plastics, Gardena, California in 1950 and distibuted by Herman Miller, Zeeland, Michigan, A1 vintage condition, no breaks, no cracks, no chips, no replacement parts, absolutely pristine, the pictures tell it all. The Shell is one of the rarer colors from the first year production - originally they were red/orange but due to the inconsistency of red pigments all have faded over time to what is now referred to as "salmon". The fibers are varigated in tone throughout and overall has mellowed with age to a salmon/peach color with beautiful vibrancy to the fibers. The close-up image of the shock mounts/rope edge is the best representation of the actual color and texture on the bottom with the top being a bit lighter as pictured, absolutely gorgeous, superfibrous, subtle, superb. The rope is clear through the entire edge of the chair, beautiful detail, the checkerboard decal is 100% intact with the exception of just a small scratch in the white square.
