This whistle is a high D. It is made of a lovely deep coloured wood, and still has its woody smell. It has a plastic mouthpiece, very much like a Susato. The tone is bright and clear, but with a slight softness because it wooden. I bought it from Erik the Flutemaker's site, (worth a look) so it came all the way from the USA - an expensive process. When it arrived I had expected it to sound much softer, which it seemed to do online (with amplifiers etc), so I was a little disappointed, and didn't persevere with it, returning to my whispery Sweetone, and I never really went back to it, so it stayed in its beautiful wooden box, which is, of course, included. It's listed as 'Used', but it is actually in a 'brand new state', because it has had virtually no use. I love the look and feel of it, and playing it now, I don't really know why it didn't become a favourite, but I've moved on to other whistles, so, sadly, I think it has to go.
