These specimens came from an estate sale of a 75 year old woman in the Boise area, and were collected between about 1920 and 1960 by her late father. We will be listing these over the coming weeks and the collection includes superb specimens of copper and silver, many from localities that are not only extremely historic, but incredibly difficult to obtain today as most of the locations have been closed for decades. is an impeccable example of exceptional copper included in clear calcite crystals with copper extruding from many areas of the calcite crystals. The calcite crystals are clear with exceptional transparency and the largest is double terminated and measures a bit over an inch in length. Also on the specimen are numerous small epidote crystals on the base along with quartz and other copper associated minerals from the best location for these specimens on the planet. This piece comes from the world famous Quincy Mine that was in operation from 1846 to about 1945 outside of the town of Hancock in Houghton County, Keweenaw Peninsula in the exceptional northern Michigan Copper Country.
