It has two of its own internal oil lamps. We were informed that this is the very same type of compass that was utilized for lifeboat navigation eons ago.. Complete with a wonderful patina overall the construction is solid brass and copper. T is glass over the compass and front of the binnacle view port as well. The compass is air-filled and appears to be in working order as well. The side doors both open to expose the two separate oil lamps. The compass face is ornately divided into 360 degrees. This piece is about 9 inches tall and 10 inches wide and is a wonderful maritime keepsake. The shipping weight is approximately 6 pounds. It has a few very small dings, a tiny bit of dirt or soot, and it's a bit dusty but it is in otherwise sound condition and has true personality. While read more
