PLEASE READ ALL TERMS BEGINING TO END!!! This is an Armour's Souvenir Calendar with Admiral George Dewey on the cover, the hero of the Spanish American War. It was made by the American Lithographic Company of NY, for the Armour & Company in 1899. The cover is the art of C.L. Hinton and C.D. Graves. These where given out to people who sent in "6 two cent stamps, or the cap from extract of beef". The first page in the calendar features "The Man Behind the Gun," with an idealistic form of the American Navy Man, the second page features "America's Pride," with a lady surrounded by red roses, and navy vessels, and the third and final page features "The Coming Admiral," with a young boy with sword and naval cap, surrounded by 4 portraits. Of course, the cover features Admiral George Dewey, hero of the Spanish American War, with significant embossing, even his mustache is embossed. This is the only know print of this calendar, complete in all of it's glory, even with the original red, white, and blue silk ribbon. All available prints on other site, are made from a copy of the original proof of the cover, which is owned by the Library of Congress. Did I read more
