A rare hard cover book. At the end of the 19th century the Brethren at their annual conference meeting decided that it was time for a history of the German Baptist Brethren to be written. Martin Grove Brumbaugh was the first to complete this history and it was published by the Brethren in 1899. There were several others who in later years also wrote a history of the Brethren, but Brumbaugh was the first and this is a 1st Edition of that scarce book. We have included photographs of the chapter and illustration pages. 559 pages 8-3/4" x 6-1/4" x 1-3/4" weighs 3-1/2" lbs. CONDITION The boards are cloth covered and do show wear. Both the front and the back boards have leather corners and leather strips near the edge of the spine.
