History of the Reign of PHILIP THE SECOND King of Spain by William H. Prescott This 3 volume set is beautifully bound in 3/4 leather with marbleized boards, page edges, and end pages. It is a fine example of binding techniques from the 19th century. These books give the history of the King of Spain who ordered the invasion of England by the Great Armada. There is clear inscription on the front page of Volume 1 showing this set to be a Christmas present in 1868. The spines are all tight and the pages are securely sewn to the binding. These books are in excellent shape considering they are 150 years old. As always, your satisfaction is guaranteed.
