Here's one for those of you who collect old medals. It is the Celebratory Issue of the City of Springfield, Massachusetts on the occurrence of the 250th year since its settlement.Note that the medal itself looks grey in the photographs but in life the field areas are Reflective Silver in color; although the medal is by no means in Mint State. Springfield was our nation's armory for years and years and that building appears atop the Crest of the Seal. Interestingly the home of another S0-Called Dollar denizen is also depicted; that of William Pynchon (HK695) who founded the city. This is a crown-zised aluminum medal that I have to describe as XF condition with PL fields: Strange but True! Thank you.
