HO Rivarossi 4-8-8-4 for Union Pacific #4023. This engine was not running when I got it. The drive to the second set of drivers was disconnected and it did not have a tender or smoke box front. The hand rails were damaged a little. It was missing a sand dome. Everything has been restored as much as possible. It has the correct tender, a new smoke box front. The drive has been reseated and everything checks out. I ran it at a train show for about 15 minutes to be sure everything was working. It also has a McHebry knuckle coupler on the rear of the tender. The tender has it's own pick-up to operate the back-up light. The light does not appear to be working. The front light works fine. The drive train in the boiler has been checked out and lubricated and works fine. It uses the older style Ahm/Rivarossi motor mounted in the cab. I would think that this engine dates back to the 70's or possibly the 80's for manufacture date. The person that I got it from was going to convert it to a DM&IR Yellowstone but gave up on that idea, thus the loss of some parts as mentioned above. I do not have the original box for it.
