This was once a plain 40 foot box car made by Athearn - It has been transformed into a beautiful, custom weathered, HO Scale car that has metal wheels and Kadee couplers. The build date is marked: NEW 4-41 and this A.T.S.F. Car is numbered 143455 - under the Santa Fe, black and white cross logo on each side. One side has the "ship Santa Fe all the way" map logo, while the other side has "The SCOUT for ECONOMY TRAVEL West" printed very neatly and clearly in white. The custom weathering work is excellent with shades of dark browns and highlights of rusty red all around. And the doors do operate as they should. Just a great looking box car! This Railroad Car has been customized with Paul's creative blends of chalk, India Ink and Dull-Cote at the Car Shops of the Shadow Canyon Scenic Railroad.
