The old glass is just so amazing - always larger than the pieces we see today and made with such detail. This ruffled edge pitcher is so lovely. It has an inverted thumbprint pattern and a ribbed applied handle. The pitcher has a slight flourescent glow when placed under a blacklight. I tried several times to take a good picture of the color under the blacklight...but I could not capture the color correctly with my camera. The pitcher stands 9 1/4" tall and has a hand painted floral design that is accented with gold. I believe this pitcher was made by Hobbs Brockunier - but I could not find this exact piece in any of my reference books under Hobbs. The design can be felt on the inside truly amazing and would look gorgeous on display in a cabinet or on the buffet. Thanks for visiting and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I originally started it with my Mom and she loved it so much...she really liked seeing what she thought was her "old junk" going for so much more than she thought it was worth. Honestly......If she had a garage sale, she would put a nickle or a dime on everything and be just so happy to make 20 bucks for all her hard work. I purchase usually from estate sales....I love the old things that have been in the family for years ...I love the history...I don't know, there is something about an estate sale that is so much better than finding it at an antique mall. I love finding that rare treasure ....or just that interesting piece of art...or anything that is unique. I also love love love purses and shoes and fashion - so I do hunt down the quality items of clothing and accessories. As a collector myself, my home gets a bit full - so every now and then I decide to start on my own things. My husband and I are both retirement age and our kids are not really interested in any of the things we have (They are more into the modern and "brand new" items) Probably because they have lived with this "stuff" all their lives. ******************************************************************************** ********************************************************************* Also, please note that I go over everything very carefully...but..I am surely not perfect and it is possible for me to miss something that is important...a flaw or a measurement.
