Holbrook Quirk Ovolo Astragal Molding Plane Holbrook was a Bristol planemaker operating from 1799 to 1849. Their mark was also used by their successor, S. Barton, who operated out of the same factory. (Samual Barton married John Holbrook's widow). The plane is in good+ condition. The body is solid with no checking; it does have a few stains. The Quirk boxing has lifted a tad in the front. The boxing at the astragal is tight and in place. The wedge is excellent. The iron has some very minor pitting, but could be easily cleaned. The iron is 1-18" wide. the cut, at spring, will be about 7/8" wide by 3/8" deep. See our other auctions and ebay store for more quality vintage tools (mostly planes).
