PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND AUCTION DETAILS PRIOR TO BIDDING: This is an authentic and original Costume Jewelry Pearl Necklace once owned and worn by Marilyn Monroe. The comes from the private collection of the esteemed Elaine Barrymore Estate, the wife of the late John Barrymore. Elaine lived in the same New York apartment building as Monroe and were reportedly friends. Included in this auction is the original letter from Barrymore.I had originally purchased this necklace on eBay from the reputable eBay Power Seller Staroddites. They have exceptional feedback and deal in celebrity owned apparel and jewelry. Following my purchase, as I don't have any experience in Maryln Monroe history or familiarity with items provided as gifts and / or items from her estate, I asked several collectors and experts regarding this piece (attempting to get a better apprasial on value). Out of the thousands of photos of Monroe, the only photos of her wearing this style of Pearl choker neckalce are those taken on her from October 27, 1954 at her divorce hearing in Santa Monica, California. I expect and it would be my unprofessional opinion that this is the necklace worn on that date. However, t is NO documentation to verify this. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH PRIOR TO BIDDING ON THIS ITEM TO DETERMINE THE FAIR VALUE.
