Presented today is this lovely Hopi Kachina doll, depicting the much beloved Pahlik Mana, the Butterfly Maiden. This splendid example, standing 7 and a half inches tall, is carved in a very traditional style, as a wall-hanger, is by the talented and respected Hopi Carver, Conrad Torivio. i have closely followed this very traditional carver's career since the very beginning, and have the pleasure of owning the very first Kachina doll he carved, when he was only 8 years old. Conrad's work is always strong and clean, very well-made and very traditional. Just recently, I had the good fortune of acquiring a very large number of Conrad and Ferman Torivio’s Kachina dolls, and will be making them available to you in the coming weeks.
