This is a Hoploscaphites cheyennensis from the Fox Hills Formation in South Dakota. It is a Cretaceous ammonite. The whole specimen in the matix measures 4" wide, 3" high and 3" thick and weighs 2 pounds. It is a nice, complete specimen with its tubercles extending all the way to the outer part of the shell. I have another Hoploscaphites listed (#160154437993) that has a nice red iridescence, but is missing some nacre and tubercles on the last 2 inches of the shell. The lighter photos were taken outside to show detail, but the color is darker than shown. T is a small patch of nacre missing at the outer part of the shell. Sits nicely for display. I am offering a 30 day money back guarantee, including all shipping costs, if you are unsatisfied for any reason. Priority shipping in the United States is $8.95. All other countries, please wait after winning for an invoice with the adjusted shipping cost. Please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
