S-H, Japan, Horikawa, "NEW SPACE CAPSULE" Battery Operated Tin Litho Toy. Mint in its original graphic box. Marked on the box, S-H within a diamond, Made in Japan. Marked on the toy on the battery compartment door, Made in Japan. Condition: THE TOY: Operates on two "D" batteries. The batteries are not included. I doubt that this toy was ever operated until I did. Everything is as made, the battery compartment is clean, there is no rust. What appear to be dents are wrinkles in the metal that occurred when this toy was formed. Being really picky, I found light scratches in two areas, see photos 7 & 8, also light rubs on the bottom edges on the blue underside. This all occurred in the making or due to long storage, not from use. The toy works, the nose cone lights up, it moves randomly (like a three point turn), it makes noise, the doors open and the astronaut rises up through them, the lunar landscape shows on his camera screen. He recedes and the doors close and the random movement begins again. THE BOX: The lid is detached at the fold. Dust soiling. Edge wear and bends. Graphics are great and complete. Looks great and is really amazing while operating. Dimensions: The Capsule, 9" long, 5" rear diameter, 2" front diameter. The Box, 10" X 5" X 5 1/2" Please take a good look at the photos, they constiyute the remainder of our description.
