HORNBY DUBLO 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive with 3218 box B.R. 80059 (80054) OO Gauge - 3 Rail Di-cast metal model locomotive MADE IN ENGLAND BY MECCANO LIMITED in BR black livery with BR lion crests on the sides. All original paintwork. The decals number 9 seems to be a brighter colour than the other numbers on both sides. It could be a transfer replacing the 4 of a 80054. Locomotive in very good used condition, just a few paint chips/scratches. The 3218 box is sound and in very good condition, just scuffs to the edges and corners - please see photos for condition. Please see the following comment from a more knowledgeable eBayer and decide for yourself if you wish to bid: "The loco body has an incorrect chimney for it to be a genuine " 80059". It looks as though the body is really an "80054 " with the "4" replaced with a "9" .The Early crest has been replaced with the later one. On a positive note the chassis & box are correct for 80059". See my other listings for more Hornby Dublo items - I am happy to combine postage costs. Added on 21/11/2014 a fter receiving more information from another eBayer. It was suggested I check the wheel operation: The motor operates if I connect power to the central rail pick-up and all 3 wheels on one side and the central wheel on the opposite side, i.e. 4 wheels out of the 6 driving wheels. read more
