Hotel Utah Salt Lake CityVintage Room Key w/Fob This is an extremely old room key from the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City. The fob appears to be brass. It is in the shape of a bee hive. In the center is a wreath surrounding and eagle holding an bee hive symbol and a ribon with the name "Hotel Utah" under it. The back of the fob has "Hotel Utah Salt Lake City, Utah" in raised letters. The room number 929 is stamped into the metal. Underneat are the words "Please drop in any mail box return postage guaranteed." T are some very fine and tiny raised dots in a semi curcular pattern at the bottom of the fob. T are some small areas w the fob has turned green and t is some rust on the key and the metal link between the key and fob. Otherwise, it appears to be in very good condition, especially on the front of the fob. The fob is approx. 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches in size, and approx. 1/8 inch thick. The skeleton key with the room number stamped into it, is approx. 3 1/4 inches long. The hotel opened its doors on June 8, 1911, on Main Street North Temple on property owned by the Mormon Church. The hotel was hailed as a joint effort between the Mormon and non-Mormon community. In 1984, management of the hotel was taken over by the Westin Hotel chain and renamed the Westin Hotel Utah. In August of 1987 the Mormon Church closed the hotel. Buyer pays read more
