This is a good working example of the Houghton and Butcher, Ensign Carbine, No 3. It is a Folding or Bellows Style Camera. The camera is in good condition for its age and appears to be functioning correctly. Shutter & appeture working. The camera is fitted with an Ensar Anastigmat f8.5 Lens. It has a contrasting red, fine focus gauge on the right of the bed. The camera is equipped with no less than three focussing options, the prismatic finder which is mounted on the shutter assembly, a wire frame finder which is also attached to the shutter assembly and a slide uo finder which is mounted on the backplate of the camera.
