Very beautiful reissue Skipper doll from 1970, with super long, shiny hair in a pale blonde color. This rare doll is gorgeous in every way.....a peaches and cream complexion, fabulous body and face that are all original, and almost unbelievably long hair! Mattel put out a pink-skinned version of the classic straight-leg Skipper in 1970, to update her and make her more "mod". The result was a stunningly pretty version of Skipper that kept the classic look but took advantage of the new warmer, pinker skintone that came with the introduction of the mod dolls. This doll is a near-perfect example that shows very little playwear; she has only 2 flaws that I can mention.....one arm is slightly paler than the other, and she has a few "fly away" hairs that I could not bring myself to cut ( I am sure they could be tamed!). She is sparkling clean, has lovely peachy-pink skintone, and the longest hair I have ever personally seen on a Skipper. The factory seemed to be going for the trendy shag cut, as her hair has the same fashionably uneven ends that big sister Barbie sported in this era. Even her swimsuit and red Japan flats are minty! If you have been looking for a reissue Skipper with eye-catching blonde hair that is in minty condition, you need look no further. This truly beautiful Skipper is ready to model your favorite outfit upon arrival. read more
