RARE & UNIQUE ORIGINAL HUBLEY CAST IRON THOROUGHBRED RACE HORSE WITH JOCKEY WEARING GREEN & WHITE RACING COLORS FROM 1931 INVESTMENT QUALITY is an opportunity to own a Rare & Unique Investment Quality Hubley Cast Iron Thoroughbred Race Horse with Jockey wearing Green & White Racing Colors or Silks. According to a reprint of a Hubley Catalog, this outstanding Hubley Large Toy or Doorstop was manufactured in 1931 by the Hubley Mfg. Company of Lancaster, PA. This Antique Cast Horse Hubley Thoroughbred Race Horse is black in color with white socks or boots and has a white star on his forehead. The original black paint is in perfect condition. He is in amazing near mint condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The Race Horse is wearing a brownish bridle, and t are small holes at the side of the mouth w the original gold rope/reins go through. He is also wearing a brownish racing saddle. Again, all the paint & the reins are in perfect condition. The Cast Iron Jockey is a separate piece of cast iron and he sits atop the race horse in a riding position with his legs bent up. The Jockey is painted in Green & White Racing Colors or Silks - green pants, white shirt with green polka dots down the sleeves, green & white racing cap and black riding boots. In his right hand, he holds the riding crop or whip painted black. His face is painted in flesh tones. All of this paint is original, although t are a few areas of age related missing paint. I would say the original paint is 95% - not bad for a old cast iron toy. All of the seams are smooth, tight and secure. If you look closely, you can see the original screw on the left side of the jockey which holds the two portions of the jockey in place. The screw is completely painted over with the original green and white paint. The racehorse is fairly large measuring 5 inches in height and 5 1/2 inches in length. The Jockey measures 2 3/4 inches in height and 1 3/4 inches in width at the widest part at his feet and legs. Hubley's attention to the detail of both the thoroughbred race horse and the jockey is truly amazing in likeness and quality. This is the most incredible piece of Hubley Cast Iron that I have come across. The condition of this 77 year old Painted Cast Iron Toy or Doorstop is truly unbelievable. You will not be disappointed to own and cherish this great investment piece of Hubley Cast Iron. Guaranteed to be Original.
