The plaque I believe, is linked to the North Bay Railway, Scarborough. Relates to an order for five coach chassis and the locomotive 'Tirton', the second of two lots supplied by Hudswell's to the Railway and delivered in April 1932. The first lot for the loco 'Neptune' and five coaches had been supplied the previous year. The locomotive had a traditional worksplate (No D573) but the five chassis would only have been provided with plates carryign the order no which was 97562. Why the stamped numbers are slightly differrent, I cannot say though may be as simple as the number stamped becoming mixed from different sets? This plaque was found in a garage having been there for some time. Measurements are approx 20 cms x 10 cms.
