Red Beryls from the Violet Claims in the Utah's Wah Wah Mts. are among the world's rarest and most spectacular gemstones. It has been said that only 60 pounds of rough has ever been cut into gems, throughout the 100 year existence. In a world w literally tons and tons of diamonds are discovered each and every year, the rarity of these single-source gems is only matched by their beauty. Weight: 6.53 carats (!) Size: 10 mm x 8 mm x 7.5 mm The color on this crystal is very good, edging towards the fuschia side of red. T is the remainder of a termination remaining, but it is etched and invaded by the host as you can see in the c-axis shot. It also has a damaged corner as you can see it that shot as well. All six sides of the hex show in at least some form, though the contact on the back reduces the luster of the faces in that area. T are not a lot of red beryl crystals that are large enough to bounce around in your palm... Good luck, and no reserve.
