Huge Lot WWII Letters/Postcards/Pictures World War II (View More Pictures Below) View More Vintage Ephemera $$$ Buy Multiple Items and Save on Shipping $$$ Description This is a lot of letters written by a soldier in World War II. The soldier's name was David J. Neil and he was from Kinzua, Pennsylvania (PA). The letters in this collection are dated from 1941 to 1946, the year he was discharged. This lot of letters is a great view into the life of this soldier from his early days in the army, artillery training, officer's school, a tour in Europe, his rise through the ranks to Lieutenant and concluding with his discharge. Lieutenant Neil was stationed at a wide array of Camps and Forts during his service. The postmarks on these letters indicate he was stationed at or at least spent some time at: Camp Bowie, TX; Camp Crowder, MO; Fort Sill, OK; Fort Bragg, NC; Camp Gruber, OK; Camp Lee, VA; Camp Pickett, VA; Fort George G. Meade, MD and Camp Forrest, TN. T are also Air Mail letters from his tour overseas and several V-Mail letters from the War & Navy Department V-Mail Service. I have skimmed most of the letters while doing an inventory of this lot. I saw letters w Lieutenant Neil was talking about his artillery training and talking about different armaments. He talks about firing his rifle at rifle training and firing a Bazooka. read more
