This listing features a large, very well polished plank cut natural display specimen of colorful and beautiful agatized petrified wood with a pleasing red bark originating from the McDermitt, Nevada area within the Owyhee Mountains! The display fossil wood is highly agatized and translucent yet wood growth structure is preserved in highly pigmented brown, tan, white and cream colored agate. The display petrified wood has a natural rounded limb shape to the exterior which allows the liquid-like polished face to be displayed upright. The plank cut, polished wood specimen limb has a round, naturally terminated reverse side with a nice red bark in contrast to the dark brown, almost black agate that is covered with white volcanic ash and clay. However, there are areas that one can see show a red bark under the compressed, white volcanic ash. All photographs were taken while the specimen was dry. The display piece weighs 3 pounds 10.4 ounces exactly and measures 230mm by 100mm by 50mm. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases as long as the specimens can be packaged in a manner that minimizes the potential for damage.
