This is a huge 3 in(76 mm) in diameter, weighs 226-gram (7.9 oz High Relief US MintPresidential/Indian Peace medal of John Adams. The obverse was designed by Moritz Furst and the reverse was designed by John Reich. It is in MINT COINDITION. This is likely an late 1960’s strike and it has the matte finish typical of post WWII mint medals. This medal had been in continuous production since the early 20 th century (contrary to other opinions, this medal and the Washington medal were added to the presidential series in the early 20 th century). It was available until 2008 for $38.00 but recent visits to USMINT.gov website shows that all presidential medals prior to Clinton (with the exceptions of Washington and Lincoln) are NO longer available.
