This is lovely old intricately hand carved Indian wooden print/batik block used originally to print onto fabrics with vegetable dyes. It is carved from one piece of wood with an approximate depth of 1.5 inches and has a missing handle. This makes it perfect for flat surfaces such as walls, tabletop displays, etc.The wooden block is an original block from Jaipur, India and is in very good condition. The block has been used with vegetable dyes over the years that have resulted in a beautiful coloration of the wood. The block depicts a very intricately carved floral design. This block is at least 40 years old or more and has little wear around the edges on the sides of the block, not the design itself. The block measures 6 inches length X 6 inches width. These blocks are traditionally used to print fabric, although they can be used on clay, plaster walls, candles, paper, tattooing etc. You can also put them on walls for a unique look or use them as decorative hardware on your favorite pieces of furniture for a very antique look. Please see our other printing blocks for sale. We wish you lot of fun decorating with your new block! Item Code Number: JB1 (This code number is for our stocking purposes only and is not to be used/interchanged with the eBay's item listing number) Note: These blocks will be shipped from our India warehouse.
