Place this large oval Shaker Cheese Pantry Box beside your couch or use it as a coffee table. Its solid and just the right size! Put a lamp and decorative items on it and it looks great! The wood on the outside is uniformly wavy from hand hewing. It is also woven with 1/2 wide strands of reed leaf / cane. The woven cane pieces hold the pieces of the box together. On the inside the wood has been etched with a quilted "x" pattern to aid in the steaming. The lid and the bottom have age splits in the wood and adds to the charm. Age and origin is unknown but it is very old. Oval shape measurements: 26 by 20 inches. Height: 18 inches.
