PLEASE WAIT TO BE INVOICED AS INSURANCE IS REQUIRED AND WILL BE CALCULATED BASED ON PURCHASE PRICE, EVEN IF SHIPPING COST IS FREE. is a huge purple transfer historical Staffordshire platter from James and Ralph Clews' Picturesque Views Series. Most of that series consists of Hudson River views, as , but t are a few that include views in Pennsylvania. This one is a view of Newburg, NY, and the title is transfer printed on the reverse. I am offering this platter WITH NO RESERVE, OTHER THAN THE OPENING BID, just to cover mostly my cost of shipping, and maybe a dinner out. But, shipping is FREE. Insurance will be added, IF this goes over $100 sale price. The platter has had a repair to the right rim area, and t is a slight fading t of the purple, giving it a more bluish tint, as you can see. So this is an AS IS sale, but I must say the platter looks fantastic, otherwise. It has a combed back with a centered impressed Clews crown in circle mark, and, as I mentioned, a transfer printed descriptive title. The border in this series is common to all the views, some calling it "floral with exotic birds. The City of Newburgh is located sixty (60) miles north of New York City on the western side of the Hudson River in Orange County, New York. This platter measures 19.5 inches long and 16.5 inches wide. It dates to around 1830. Other than the color variation on the right front edge, the appearance of this platter is marvelous.
