This Victorian celluloid box is very large and very beautiful. However, it does have some condition issues, so if you are looking for a perfect celluloid piece, this is not for you. With that said, this is really a stunning all celluloid box. As you can see, it features a beautifully dressed young woman, carrying a bouquet of flowers behind her. The sides and base feature a green floral design. The front features raised scrollwork as well. The front latch is missing the latch portion, so it doesn't close. The inside has been redone. The bottom is deep red velvet & the top has a large vintage lace piece, which has some small holes. Now for the condition of the celluloid. THE TOP: The top edge has some cracks & small chips. This damage starts to the right of the girls' hair and goes to the end (approx. 6 ½" long). T is a small crack in the raised scrollwork on the left hand side (see picture). On the right side, below the cracks, t is a dark spot. I've never tried to clean it and always displayed it "as is". The base in the front is in excellent condition, with only teensy corner "chips". Overall, I would say the front of the box is in relatively good condition. THE BACK: This is w most of the damage is.
