This light is absolutely gorgeous!! It is very large measuring 47" around at it's widest point, and 32" in length from the top of the metal crown to the bottom point. THE GLASS IS NOT PAINTED, but is a true deep ruby red glass with a deeply grooved design in it. I can't find any chips,cracks or signficant scratches on the glass at all. T is a gold cylinder diffuser inside to soften the light. I have always put no more than a 60 watt bulb in any light or lamp which is something I had been told a long time ago, but this did have a 100 watt when I aquired it. I have taken a close up picture of the metal top, it looks like it needs a touch-up with flat black paint and some silver highlights. The black chain measures about 12 feet with another 3 or 4 feet of cord at the bottom. The light turns on with a pull chain that goes out through the bottom point. The tassel that hangs from the pull chain will need to be replaced, as it is a little raggedy!! I did try to take an indoor picture when it was lit up, but could not get a good one---but be assured--IT works and is very beautiful when turned on!!
