This is a Huge Vintage Sterling Silver inlaid Gemstone Ring Size 8 1/4. The very substantial, heavy ring weighs 28.3 grams and it has a very heavy feel. The 8 1/4 size can be seen in a closeup photo on our jeweler's mandrel. The ring does have a condition issue and is offered as found / as seen / as described with respect to that issue. Please review the Condition section and the accompanying photo. The inlaid gemstones are purple and red in color. We do not know the stones for sure, but it appears that the purple stone may be sugilite (often called purple turquoise), and the red might be red coral or carnelian. The photos are closeups. The size relative to a US dime is shown in one of the photos. The overall outside dimensions of the table are 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 5/8" x 1 3/4". The corresponding dimension of the prong set center stone are 5/8" x 7/8" x 3/16" x 1 1/8". The total height of the table is 3/8". The shank measures 3/8" adjacent to the table, tapering to 3/16" at the bottom. The ring is an estate item and we do not know specifically how old it is. It is marked "STERLING". There is a maker's mark consisting of two characters that I was not able to interpret or make any attribution for.
