Large Signed Hugo Brehme Photograph Tepepan RARE!!! One of four original large photos by Brehme I have on now, plus several other rare western America photos from a collection of photos obtained from the estate of a family member of Joseph G. Masters. Masters was an early collector and wrote 3 books on Western Americana and has collections with the Kansas State Historical Society, etc. I have a complete box of photos (mostly family shots) that will come up later. This is a rare LARGE photograph (guaranteed original) by the noted German photographer of Mexico, Hugo Brehme. This photo measures just over 10" by 13" and is mounted on the original mat. I believe it is a gelatin silver print. I think this photo is one of the rarer of those I have on now. I can find no reference to this one anyw on the web. The photo is a dark shot of a shepherd siting beside a tree with his sheep. It appears to be nightfall. You can see the silver in this photo when it is held from the side. It is almost like a halo effect extending in from al! l 4 sides about an inch. From the front, the photo appears more normal, but you can still see the "halo". The photo is in very good condition with no tears or creases. The mat is signed lower right "Hugo Brehme Mexico DF" and lower left "Tepepan". It does have a few dirty spots and small creases.
