Huichol Indian beaded necklace....very beautifully designed and implemented. Lots of black , white with accents of blue, garent and green. the main 3 pieces are approx. 4 3/4" tall x almost 5" wide. A little over 15" from the back of neck down to very bottom of design. Now to give you some background on me. I originally sold Native American jewelry in California in the seventies. Then I went off and got myself in the entertainment business which I still do for my living. (go to seller: xpalmmiami to buy cds!!!) At any rate somehow I found myself living in Miami Beach and I started a Vintage Native American booth which I did like every other weekend. Unfortunately between getting pneumonia and moving to the Northeast this whole thing went by the wayside. I have just started getting interested in selling again after 5 years. A lot of my things are older pieces but I have new ones too and will indicate which is which, so please read very carefully! I am leaving the original patina on this jewelry as I love the fine patina of time and will leave it up to the new owners to decide how they prefer to have their pieces. I usually put everything up with no reserve. I will let you know if it is otherwise. I just don't like to fool around, I put them up for the price I paid for them. To sign or not to sign, that is the question. is your best rule of thumb used by all experienced traders and collectors: From the time that Navajos began making jewelry in mid-1860, it was made for personal use. Later, in the Harvey era, jewelry was made for sale to tourists. Even then, it was assumed that the distinctive style of a piece was adequate to identify the maker.During the 1970?s, Turquoise and Sterling jewelry became a fashion rage! This is known as the Steve McQueen Era.Anglos wanted Native American jewelry, but they wanted it signed as a guarantee. The rule of thumb is that if it is signed it was most likely made AFTER 1970.If it unsigned it MAY be older. This rule holds true for a Sterling hallmarks too. Also if you are absolutely desperate for a piece, eBay has a way of doing so, which I have confirmed in writing with them, which if you make an offer that I find pleasing, I can stop the auction (it has to have no bids on it already). Please do NOT offer less than what it is up for, I have them listed at my cost before I pay insertion and commission fees so I will really have no interest. On some of the items that only have one picture, please feel free to email me and ask me for more pictures if you feel you need too. I require insurance for shipping on every piece!!! Whether I checked it off or not...it is very easy to forget to check that off when you're filling out the form. I HAVE DECIDED TO NOT OFFER RETURNS ON ITEMS $50.00 OR UNDER AS A TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUE, SO I DO APOLOGIZE. PLEASE REMEMBER VINTAGE PIECES USUALLY HAVE BEEN WORN, SO THINGS LIKE RINGS MAY BE SLIGHTLY MISSHAPEN OVER TIME TO FIT THE WEARERS FINGER, BUT I ALWAYS TRY THEM ON FIRST TO SEE IF THEY ARE WEARABLE. ALSO I AM LEAVING THE ORIGINAL PATINA ON THEM, IT WILL BE UP TO YOU TO DETERMINE IF YOU WANT TO POLISH THE AGE OFF THEM OR NOT. BOLOS AND BELT BUCKLES USUALLY HAVE "BACKSIDE WORKING" IN OTHER THAN STERLING . Also it is an absolutely bad idea to wear inlays in water situations like washing dishes etc...take that ring (or whatever off, off , off!!!!) I DO COMBINE SHIPPING!!!! Please note as of May 14, 2007 the US Post Office has increased postage and apparently insurance as well. Finally being a packrat I have a lot of other things I will be putting up as well including stereo equipment, "real" gold and platinum record awards, Mexicana (especially linens), antiques, collectibles etc...so keep and eye our or just plain ask me if I have something I will put it up on eBay!!!!
