Very rare FAIENCE Little Fiddler Hummel figurine. This hummel is 12.25 inches tall. The faience technique is one of opaque color glazes. This was one of the original experimental techniques used by the Goebel production line for Hummel Figurines in the early 1940's and but it was abandoned for the traditional appearance of the hummel figurines. This was also the case for the terra cotta finish. This is why a Faience hummel is so rare. This hummel is in excellent condition. Mild crazing. Colors are strikingly vibrant as is the style of a Faience. It is likely that you havenot have seen one of these for sale anyplace in many years. Collectors just do not give up this type of hummel rarity. Even if you do not buy this hummel, take a picture of it because you will probably not see one again. Some hummel collectors of the rarest hummels consider the Faiences as the greatest part of their collections. To these collectors, here is your chance to take a look at one you also have in all liklihood never seen. Smaller ones yes, large ones like this..maybe. In any event, have fun looking and happy hummeling.
