I am selling a very unique Hummel holy water font. This piece is a closed edition; no longer in production. Because of the fragile wing design it was discontinued in 1958 and replaced with a new design (HUM 248). My font was modeled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger. The back is impressed with: M I Hummel 29/0 and has the stylized bee in blue ink. Next to the mark is a stamp: Western Germany It is 6" high and nearly 3" across the back. The resevoir is about 1 1/4" across. I am the original owner. I received it as a gift in the 1950's. I have kept this holy water font wrapped in tissue and in a box for years. I do see one tiny chip on the taupe paint on the side of the water resevoir. Other than that it is perfect. The angel in prayer is flawless. This is truly a treasure and a stellar addition to any Hummel collection.
