Huyler’s Candy Shops – Soda Fountains – 1929 – Beautiful Hotel Silver Style Coffee Pot! Here is a rare 1920’s to 1930’s era - bottom marked 6 ½” tall by 5 7/8” wide (from the tip of the spout across to the opposite side of the handle) 12 oz. silver plate coffee pot / hot water pitcher made for the Huyler’s Chocolate & Candy Co. for actual usage in their candy shops / lunch counters that Huyler’s operated that served their candies, chocolates, sandwiches, and even ice cream in a soda shop style. This is the first such coffee pot like that this I’ve seen and I’m positive not much of this silver has survived of the many years since it was made and used. Historically, Huyler’s was a very famous candy company that was started in 1874 in New York City by John S. Huyler. The company became famous for its Chocolates, Cocoa (Hot Chocolate), and Confections (including the famous George Washington Taffy and Huyler’s Sweet Heart Gum). One of the most famous Chocolates that Huyler made was the Bon Bons. The company became famous and Huyler’s Boxed Chocolates and Candies was a prestigious gift for someone to give.
